Poetry : Torpidity

Torpidity

She leaned sleepily against the wall
Lazily stirring the pale blue plastic straw
Clumsily playing with the icy liquid
Torpidly staring at his roguish smile
Her drink was colored like the sunset
And her cheeks were flushed bright red
She looked up at him with half-lidded eyes
Her stupor inviting his soft warm chuckle
She saw his eyes twinkle with mischief
And that was the moment she knew
The playful night had only just begun
